For the uninformed, Super Smash Bros is the latest iteration of the Nintendo fighting-game series. The game pits classic Nintendo and other franchise characters against one another in a fast-paced 2-D world. The only thing crazier than the moving maps and the items randomly dropped are the last 20 seconds of any battle.

Check out this video with a breakdown of all the new features from the Wii U version:

Captain Falcon is a character in Smash Bros (originally from the racing game Super Nintendo game F-Zero) – his trademark move is the Falcon Punch.

Here’s a video to totally lock in the vague connection between Triple Crossing and Captain Falcon – I give you the Triple Falcon Punch:

So now you have some background, and it’s time to put your smash skills to the test! Head on over to Triple Crossing Brewery, located at 113 S Foushee St, this Friday at 6 PM, throw down with the rest of RVA, and enjoy their coincidentally named Falcon Smash brew.

The brewery has promised a 6 ft. screen for folks to play on – no word yet on how the breakdown of players will occur.

Triple Crossing said they will use 4 Pro-remotes, a more traditional game pad, and the tournament will start at 6:30

The event is 21 and up.

Falcon Smash, an American-style IPA, has a “good” rating of 84 on Beer Advocate. And with a 7.4 ABV, you should be able to down a few before your Smash game gets weak.
