RVA beer lovers, get ready to take a trip out to Goochland this Saturday. Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery has a brand new Double India Pale Ale to welcome into the world, and they’re throwing an Earth Day party to celebrate. 4 Pillars DIPA takes its name from a Thomas Jefferson quote: “Agriculture, manufactures, commerce and navigation, the four pillars of our prosperity, are the most thriving when left most free to individual enterprise.”

But the one true pillar this beer is built upon is hops. Lots and lots of hops. As Lickinghole Creek says of this new brew: “4 Pillars DIPA is a delicious, hop-induced libation made specifically for your inner hop head. If you are not a hoppy beer fan, we are sorry. If you love massive, unsubtle hop flavor and aroma, you are welcome.”

We assume you beer fans know exactly whether you’ll enjoy such a preparation, even if it sounds a bit too hoppy for your blood, the party Lickinghole Creek is throwing to celebrate its release is guaranteed to be a blast. This “Farm Extravaganza” will feature a variety of vendors and food trucks on hand and plenty of family activities.

There will also be an outdoor farmer’s market, featuring seasonal produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and locally made fine artisan crafts; as well as farm animals, live demonstrations and children’s activities. And of course, there will be live music as well, provided by local honky-tonk crew Andy Vaughan And The Driveline, along with rip-roaring local blues band Barrelhouse. Plus, those of you with kids in tow won’t want to miss the Easter Egg Hunt, featuring the Grumpy Easter Bunny, which kicks off at 3:30.

It all starts this Saturday, April 19 at 1 PM, at the Lickinghole Creek facility at 4100 Knolls Point Drive in Goochland. For more info, including a full list of vendors that will be on hand, click here, and if you would like to volunteer to help out at this event, click here.
