Richmond’s breweries continue to rack up awards for their tasty brews.

Over the weekend, Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery in Goochland and Hardywood Park Craft Brewery took home a few awards at the bi-annual World Beer Cup competition in Colorado.

The Brewers Association developed the Competition in 1996 to celebrate the art and science of brewing and with over 200 beer judges, and nearly 100 style categories, it’s refered to as “The Olympics of Beer Competitions.”

Lickinghole Creek took home the Silver medal in the “Field Beer” category for its Coconut Delight beer and Hardywood took home the bronze in the “Wood and Barrel Aged-Strong Stout” category for Ruse, an imperial milk stout which is aged in The Winery at Bull Run Red Wine barrels for 18 months, and has distinct dark chocolate and molasses characteristics.
