The 2015 edition of RVA On Tap’s RVA Beer Madness is now down to the Final Four!! We have our top four teams representing your favorite beer spots in RVA. Here are the matchups:

DIVISON FINAL – Legend Brewing Company vs Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Legend Brewing Company has made a strong showing in this year’s poll by defeating a few very big teams, and now by beating Saison, they move on as the top team to represent RVA Downtown / Shockoe Division.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery once again this year shows itself to be a top team. It came up against a really strong Joe’s Inn and fought a close match, but Hardywood stays strong and moves on to represent The Fan / Scott’s Addition.

This matchup is classic and what this bracket is all about. RVA Beer Madness is represented by two proud and historic Richmond breweries that make RVA one of the best beer towns on the east coast!

DIVISON FINAL – Garden Grove Brewing Company vs Mekong Restaurant

Garden Grove Brewing Company has become our Cinderella story this year; they have beat out a few very strong teams on the way to this finals. Maybe they will brew a special beer just for this occasion? I’m thinking Glass Slipper Saison! Now, by pulling out a close victory against top seeded Mellow Mushroom, they advance to represent Museum District / Carytown.

Mekong Restaurant had the battle of all battles this year with the very popular Bucket Trade. Bucket Trade started out the day in the lead by quite a few votes, but as noon drew near, the votes started to pour in for the always popular Mekong. Truth is that Mekong won by just 2 votes, and this is the closest that anyone has come yet to beating our former champion. Mekong now moves on representing West End / Southside in the finals.

We have one restaurant left in the Beer Madness 2015 and it’s no surprise that the one still standing is Mekong. This year has been the year of the breweries–now we’ll see if Garden Groove Brewery can keep its story going against one of the #1 Beer Bars in America.

Cast your votes for Final 4 matchups, and feel free to share this bracket with friends and businesses in our community! In the end, local beer wins!

Round 6 voting ends at 3pm Friday April 1st, at which time we will list winners and move to round 7 and the match to determine the overall winner of 2015’s RVA Beer Madness! Thanks for your time, and HAPPY VOTING!
