Tapped: Fine Creek’s Thai Tea Milk Stout, DunkelWeizenBock, Castleburg’s Court Jester Porter

What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts’ desire.

If you missed last week’s beer news, you can check those out here. Our cup is overflowing with news this week from releases to events, and other cool happenings around town, so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

Triple Crossing’s Long Bright Dark Imperial Stout with Madagascar Vanilla Beans and Blanchard’s Coffee Roasting Co. will launch in crowlers and on draft this Saturday in Fulton.

On Thursday, Ardent Craft Ales will release its Power brew, a Belgian Strong Ale brewed in collaboration with our friends from De Struise Brouwers in Belgium. This big, boozy beer balances malty sweetness with a roasty backbone thanks to a healthy dose of coffee from local favorites Lamplighter Coffee Roasters

And on Saturday, Ardent will release its Vaulted Vanilla Milk Stout friends brewed in collaboration with Sauer’s Spices. A small batch is being released exclusively for this collab in honor of the company’s 130th anniversary, and 100% of proceeds will go to FeedMore. We will also be handing out free cookies from Sugar + Twine bakeshop.

Strangeways is still celebrating Oktoberfest with beer stein contests, Bavarian pretzels, and of course their special brew, FEST.  Strangeways Steins full of select flagship beers and our special Oktoberfest brew, FEST will be available. $13 gets you your BIG pour, or $20 gets you the liter of beer AND you get to keep your commemorative Strangeways Stein to take home.

Fine Creek Brewing Co. in Powhatan has a special crowler release of their Thai Tea Milk Stout starting Thursday! As part of Oktoberfest, they will have their new DunkelWeizenBock, a dark strong German wheat beer. The brewery will also be releasing our Shinso Pear Saison, made with locally grown Asian pears.

On Friday, Intermission Brewing Company in Glen Allen will release their IPA  at 4:00!

Join Buskey Cider to celebrate the bounty of harvest at on October 14th! Buskey Cider is made from 100% Virginia Apples, and we’re excited to celebrate these incredible apples from our state! And, we’ll be releasing an incredible OAK AGED dry cider specially for the occasion.

Castleburg’s Court Jester Porter returns to the Scott’s Addition brewery this Saturday.

Center of the Universe will release its Crazy Bet Imperial Red Ale. The variation was brewed at Origin Beer Lab with our top point Satellite, Bridgette Kelly.

The Veil Brewing Co. will host a Cobra Burger Pop-Up on Thursday and a seafood pop up on Sunday night.

On Friday, Final Gravity Brewing Co. will release its 12 Parsecs DIPA.

Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House returns this Thursday with their weekly collaboration. This time, its “Wingman”, a Scottish Export made in partnership with Cameron Compton of Maverick Brewing Company.

The Answer Brewpub recently released Well, a collab with  Hoof Hearted Brewing that delivers a fruity haze with big late additions of Enigma, Citra, & Mosaic hops.
