Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

We’ve got new releases and fourth of July festivities and other cool events going on so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery is proud to support Ales for ALS with the introduction of two new brews to be released at the brewery in 16 oz. cans on Friday, July 1st at 4PM. One dollar from every pint of Ales for ALS beer sold is donated directly to the ALS Therapy Development Institute. Bob’s Brew 2016 is brewed in honor of Bob Murtaugh who lost his battle with ALS, but who’s gentle yet spirited nature lives on and resonates in the mellow, bright flavors of this brew. Andrea’s Ale 2016 is brewed to honor our friend and ALS warrior Andrea Lytle Peet. Fresh mango brings a refreshing tropical character to this session pale ale.

The brewery will also hold a July 4th celebration featuring thei brews 5 phenomenal bands, and great eats from many of your favorite gourmet mobile food vendors, culminating in 4th of July fireworks over the Diamond.

Triple Crossing will release its Liberty or Death Porter Sat. July 2nd. The brew pays homage to St. John’s Church, just a mile away from their tasting room, where Patrick Henry first gave his fiery Liberty or Death speech to a raucus room of revolutionaries. The robust porter, based on an English recipe from 1855, features mild bitterness from Super Galena hops and an aroma dominated by roasted coffee and dark chocolate.

On Friday, July 1st, Isley comes out with a new infusion. This time, a Pear Ginger Golden Ale.

Isley will also celebrate the 4th with a party featurng their delicious brews, tunes from DJ Mac Daddy and a view of the fireworks from their back patio. Infusion Schedule: 12pm – S’Mores Porter, 3pm – Kiwi Plain Jane, 6pm – Bourbon Ginger.

Goochland brewery Lickinghole Creek is throwning down big this Saturday with the re-release of their Pony Pasture Pilsner. They will also have a pig pick party. Specialty Pins: Fruity Pony Pasture , Citrus Pony Pasture – p3 aged on lemon / lime and lemondrop hops (3:00 tapping)

Pig Pick Information: Belle & James will be offering plates of freshly prepared pork (made with hogs raised on LCCB spent grain) & sides. They will charge by the plate. Menu: Freshly Prepared Pork, Black Bean & Corn Relish, Jalapeno Mac & Cheese, Apple Kale Slaw, and Roasted Potaotes.

The brewery will also release a Mango Habanero brown ale to celebrate July 4th.

On Saturday and Sunday, Chesterfield’s Steam Bell Beer Works will release its Smoked Chocolate Brown Ale. This beer is a 5.6% American Brown Ale brewed with chocolate malt and a hint of smoke.

On Saturday, Strangeways will releae a double radler release. this time around its two brews perfect for summer, Passionfruit & Peach.

The Answer Brewpub will host a pre-Independence Day party July 3rd. They will be be releasing a new Berliner Weisse for the occasion: Loops of Fruit brewed w/ Red Raspberries, White Peaches & Blueberries along with live music from Phillip Gibbs.

On Saturday, Center of the Universe will release its Summer Moon Rasberry Lemonade ale. It’s brewed with freshly picked raspberries and ripened lemon zest.
