Boogie Island: Weekend Playlist by Citrus City Records

by | Aug 9, 2019 | MUSIC

Every Friday night, RVA Mag brings you a lovely and wonderful playlist curated by Virginia’s most influential artists, musicians, and institutions.

This time, we’re bringing you a selection of bangers from Citrus City Records, whose continued work to bring the best underground sounds from Virginia and beyond to the masses of music fandom makes us happy to share a town and a music scene with them.

We’ve been stoked about Citrus City for a while now, and they’ve only continued to validate our love, so if you’ve missed out on what they have to offer, this playlist offers the perfect opportunity to get familiar. But this selection of tunes isn’t just about Richmond — it’ll take you around the world, from African funk to psychedelic Latin ballads and quite a bit more. It also brings things back to Virginia with some excellent selections from recent Citrus City releases; keep an eye out for those. You’re going to want to learn more in the very near future.

Drink your juice, Virginia.
