It’s Not All About You: Weekend Playlist by 92FU’s Greg Kusterbeck and Gary Llama

by | Jun 26, 2020 | MUSIC

Every Friday night, RVA Mag brings you an epic, glorious playlist curated by Virginia’s most influential artists, musicians, and institutions.

This week, we’ve got a special treat for all you longtime Richmond punk heads: a playlist from 92FU. This project came together in the wake of last year’s St. Edwards Reunion, which saw half a dozen bands from the Richmond punk scene of the mid-90s reunite for one night of glory. Uphill Down bassist Greg Kusterbeck and 500$Fine singer/guitarist Gary Llama didn’t want things to end there, though, so they created a new chapter in the form of 92FU. Their 10-song debut LP was just released a month or so ago by Gary’s OVOLR Records label, and you can check it out now on the OVOLR Records Bandcamp page, as well as finer streaming services everywhere.

And while you’re at it, get into this playlist of hot hardcore punk tunes that’ll raise the volume on the stormy weekend we’ve got in store and get you stoked to hit the streets and stand up for a cause. It’s full of both modern and classic Richmond bands, along with some core influences that run the gamut from angry hardcore to thought-provoking hip hop and catchy melodic punk tunes.

Raise your voice, Virginia.
