RVA’s fun, costumed-rockers Imaginary Sons will grace the stage of The Camel this Friday, where they will remain each fourth friday for the next four months.

This new residency will be a chance for the trio, that’s been playing together for the last two years, to bring an eclectic lineup of local and regional acts to RVA music lovers.

“We’re super pumped to have this opportunity to showcase some of our favorite newer Richmond bands to our friends and fans,” said bassist Kyle Hermann. “It’s also going to be a lot of fun to play with some larger local acts that we really admire, but that we haven’t had an opportunity to share a stage with yet…we’re going to try to play with all kinds of bands for these shows, no matter what the genre.”

Known for their wacky music videos and alter egos, elaborate getups and crazy live shows, Hermann promised fans will be treated with all that and more at their upcoming residency.

“We plan to get creative with our own sets and performances and try to bring something really unique and interesting to every show of this residency,” he said. “We love The Camel and their staff and we feel really lucky to call that establishment home for the next few months.”

Imaginary Sons most recently released, Don’t Impress Me, in April which you can take a listen to below if you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing their rock and roll sound before.

And to give you a little taste of what you can expect at one of their live shows, here is a video of them rocking out at The Camel.

Catch Imaginary Sons, along with psych-metal rock band Manzara,Staunton’s stoner psychedelic rock outfit Shagwuf, and RVA’s dream pop band The Wimps, this Friday, August 26th, at The Camel. Doors open at 8 pm. Music starts at 9 pm. $8/advance, $10/door.
