There was once a song that united people all around the world with the simple lyrics, “You, you’ve got what I need, but you say I’m just a friend.” The friend zone can be a scary place.

There was once a song that united people all around the world with the simple lyrics, “You, you’ve got what I need, but you say I’m just a friend.” The friend zone can be a scary place.

Perhaps it’s best for some to stay in the friend zone so they don’t step out of their relationship. Or maybe they went from friends to lovers too quick and ended up like our last fellow. Either way, beware of the friend zone as it is known to lead to Drake listening sessions and Facebook stalking. Below find this week’s batch of Missed Connections:

Friendzone – m4w

I often think about you more than a friend. There are plenty of opportunities to make my move and I don’t take it. I know that it will ruin our friendship and I don’t want to risk that. You are an amazing friend so I just let it go and listen to you talk about other guys. So far, I am able to control it and not let it come between us, and I hope to keep it that way. We go to gym together and we joke about your butt getting bigger. We hang out alone from time to time and I just want to cuddle but we end up sitting on the opposite sides of the room watching tv.

Pink shorts ebroad ran to get across the street b4 do not walk. – m4w (Richmond e broad)

You was walking down e broad in pink shorts and a shirt that kinda showed your belly button. You came to the do not walk sign and ran to the other side before the light turned. You was amazingly beautiful. If you see this message me.

Chuck e Cheese Midlothian Turnpike – m4w (Midlothian)

Beautiful petite black woman in all black at Chuck E Cheese on Saturday. I was next to you with my daughter as you played the game where you hit the button to bounce balls in the dogs mouth. You were absolutely gorgeous and I wish I had said something to you.

We work together – w4m (RVA)

… As teachers in another County. We’re both in our 30s and into building stuff/using our hands. It takes me a while to warm up to people, and I’m getting used to you. I won’t mess with you as you’re married and I can respect that. But I catch a twinkle in your brown eyes every time I talk to you. I can dig platonic. And I dig your beard too.

Re: we work together – m4w (Rva)

At first I wasn’t sure what to think about you but the more I’m around you the more I’m drawn to you! I can try to do the platonic thing but when I see you in those jeans I can’t help where my mind goes! I want you so bad but am afraid to do anything with you and betray others. I know you feel the same way! Maybe one day we’ll get drunk enough to make a move on each other and become a beautiful disaster!

I HATE YOU! – m4w (Crewe, VA)

You know who you are. You are a whore. You are a liar. You are selfish. You deserve everything bad that can make a person suffer. You told me empty promises, fed me false love, and ruined my life. No wonder your friend cut ties to you. I know what you did to her. I was told it was you. If only I could get the hard proof it was you who got her fired, I would send it to her and make it public to everyone. If I saw you on fire the ONLY 2 things I would wish for was an empty bladder and no cell signal. You have everything and left me with nothing; a broken heart, broken family, and zero trust for any woman. But you did give me one thing I can never get rid of. HPV. Yes. That’s right. You were the only woman I had been with for over 4 years. Money over me? My advice to you…keep your legs closed as long as you still lay down every night next to your rich husband. I feel sorry for him. Maybe one day he will get a package in the mail with pictures of us and every email and text you ever sent me. That dream now takes the place of my dreams of us. Oh, maybe I can also mail the same packages to your kids. Wonder what they would think of mommy then??? Your physical pains will never even come close to the pain you caused me. I hope the pain you deal with every day eats at your soul just like you stomped on mine. Paybacks are are a bitch and believe me, when it comes around on you, it will be a grand day for me and everyone else that put their dicks (plural because they number in the triple digits) inside any of your orifices. One day people will know the real person you are. A lying, cheating, money hungry, 2 faced, selfish, diseased ridden whore. Stop ruining other people’s lives! Your actions affected me, my children, my job, my life. You play a sick game without remorse or or care for others. I know of 2 divorces you are responsible for, including my own. Everyone thinks you are this perfect mom, perfect wife, and perfect daughter. You are so good a presenting yourself as this great person but you just can’t stop fucking with others. Too quick to smile to their face, listen to their problems, flutter your eyes, then talk shit behind their back. Money solves it all doesn’t it. Don’t choke on your house husbands cash. Guess you’ll never be poor again but I hope you die lonely. So in parting I have only 2 words left to say in the most southern charming way: FUCK YOU!!!

Richmond Loves Dolly Parton

I was gonna kill my husband in a cab in Peru, but “Islands in the Stream” came on the radio, and we stopped arguing and started singing. She could do that to you. You could totally be feeling some type of way, but if you put some Dolly Parton on, well, then you got a...
