The Hidden Path | Following the Signs Beneath the Retrograde’s Gaze

by | Nov 25, 2024 | COMMUNITY, CULTURE

Dear Richmond,

While the Sun is currently traveling through the freedom-loving sign of Sagittarius, inspiring our philosophical and spiritual beliefs, Mercury Retrograde began in the same sign on November 25th and will last through December 15th.

It is possible that there may be unexpected delays in travel or communication issues this week. We can also expect things to move slower than usual during this transit.

At the heart of this week’s spread is the Eight of Pentacles, surrounded by the King of Pentacles and Ace of Cups.

As the moon aims for balance on Monday, November 25th, in the sign of Libra, it is possible that we will be taking a closer look at our personal relationships. Tension may arise with loved ones or even in moments of self-reflection. It is important that we try to be patient with ourselves and others during this time.

The moon will land in the transformative sign of Scorpio on Thursday, November 28th, through November 29th—just in time for Thanksgiving. The holidays are a sensitive time for many, but vulnerability can lead us to radical healing. The King of Pentacles and Eight of Pentacles both reflect our material world and our need for security and stability.

With the Ace of Cups present, it is possible that healthy communication with a romantic partner will lead to deeper intimacy. For others, the transformation of self may be a topic of discussion as we approach the New Moon in Sagittarius on Sunday, December 1st.

For guidance and insight, you may wish to attend the New Moon Tarot and Journaling Workshop at Oakwood Arts this Sunday, December 1st, hosted by Jon Cope and Averi Rose. Jon Cope, yoga instructor and writer for RVA Magazine, will offer a guided meditation for attendees, and I will offer 15-minute tarot readings for $25. All are welcome to join us for this wonderful occasion.

The New Moon may inspire us to start anew or prepare us to move in a different direction. However, with Mercury in Retrograde, it is important not to act on impulse. This is a time to look within and allow the answers to arrive intuitively.
