The guys behind @FooFightersRVA have been pushing for weeks to crowdfund the first Foo Fighters show in Richmond since 1998. Well, guess what–it looks like it happened. They reached their goal of $70,000 with a couple of hours to spare. The Foo Fighters hadn’t officially committed to playing the show if the goal was reached, but based on the tweet they sent out when the CrowdHoster campaign reached its goal, it looks like Virginia boy Dave Grohl and the band will be coming back to the city! Maybe the guys will team up with their buddies in Lamb Of God and just slay everyone. We shall see.

The question now becomes: where is it gonna happen? They are too big for the National, right? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

In 2005, I created RVA Magazine, and I'm still at the helm as its publisher. From day one, it’s been about pushing the “RVA” identity, celebrating the raw creativity and grit of this city. Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is.
