Dj Dook, AKA David Sporn, has been spinning since 2009 with an aggressive electro flavor, mixing analog and digital technology to create a unique sound of electro beats, samples, and even some scratching. Shortly after he got his start, he began spinning at University of Richmond fraternity parties, and even hosted a Thursday night radio show, which featured such guests such as Beatdown The Kid, HOYT, and iLL Omen. A year later, DJ Dook had held residencies at New York Deli and Have a Nice Day Café, two of Richmond’s premier establishments. His work within the college scene got him the opportunity to play with Switch from Major Lazer at University of Richmond’s back to school party. This has led him to share the stage with many artists, including Numbernin6, White Panda, Brenton Duvall, Manifesto, Designer Drugs, and Sex Ray Vision. After being in the RVA rave scene for a year, Dook joined Source Productions, based out of Chicago. They have thrown some of the biggest raves on the East Coast.

The adventures continued when he got a chance to play on the Red Bull MXT transformer truck, and on top of a fire truck for a special event. Things didn’t stop there–in the summer of 2012, he did a show with Karasho, who came in from Italy, and by the end of the night got brought onto join the crew from Social Security Records. Dook has continued to work in radio, spinning live on WRIR 97.3, WDCE 90.1, and NSBRadio.co.uk, as well as having a live mix featured on Q94.
