If you RVA burlesque lovers were pining away over the longer-than-usual five-week wait between monthly installments of Brews & Burlesque at Strangeways Brewing, well, take heart–your wait is almost over!

If you RVA burlesque lovers were pining away over the longer-than-usual five-week wait between monthly installments of Brews & Burlesque at Strangeways Brewing, well, take heart–your wait is almost over! Moxie LaBouche, Dante The Inferno, and the usual Blacklist Burlesque crew have returned for a special third-Friday edition of Brews & Burlesque taking place at Strangeways Brewing on April 17!

And they’ve got a whole bunch of awesome special guests to bring along with them. Jacques Ze Whippeur is the most immediately striking (no pun intended)–a circus performer, comedian, and entertainer who has been just about everywhere, Jacques’ caravan will be making a stop in Richmond this Friday night to bring you thrills, chills, and feats of derring-do. It starts with a flaming whip and just gets crazier from there; you’ll want to see exactly what Jacques Ze Whippeur has in store for you!

There will also be some special guest burlesque performers involved in the show; Eevee Bravura will be heading to town from Norfolk to show us how the Tidewater burlesque girls get down, while RVA’s own Anna Steasya, whom you may remember from her amazing turn as Wednesday Addams in last month’s Stay Tuned burlesque tribute to classic TV, will be in the house as well! There will also be a special appearance by 955 Club Comedy founder Ray Bullock, who always seems to turn up at events like these (and who can blame him?). And of course, your ever-gracious host Ego Von Hubris will be present as well, along with stage kitten Zadora Zaftig.

It’s all happening this Friday, April 17, starting at 9 PM, over at Strangeways Brewing, located at 2277A Dabney Rd. Tickets are $9 in advance, $12 at the door, and they’re available at strangewaysbrewing.com/happenings or blacklistburlesque.com/buy-tickets.html. They’re always a hot item, so grab yours now while you can!

OR–if you’d rather go see this show for FREE, your pals at RVA Magazine just might be able to hook you up! We’re giving away two tickets to Brews & Burlesque this Friday night to one lucky RVA Mag reader, and that could be you! Just plug your info into the widget below, take advantage of the extra chances to win, and make sure you enter by Friday at noon, because that’s when we’ll shut this whole thing down and pick a winner!
