Those Freaking Weirdos are doing a lot to make a name for themselves on the RVA burlesque scene in 2014! Hot on the heels of the first monthly Brews & Burlesque night of the new year (happening this Friday night! Check it out!), the Weirdos in question will be taking their act to the big time with a performance at Richmond CenterStage’s Gottwald Playhouse on Sunday, January 19. Animal Kingdom will be a “wild and wooly” performance integrating animalistic themes with Those Freaking Weirdos’ innovative neo-burlesque approach, which integrates comedic gimmickry with the classic burlesque performance style we all know and love.

Those Freaking Weirdos will be celebrating their anniversary at this performance, and all the usual suspects will be in attendance–Melody Magpie, “the princess of the burly-cute;” Dante The Inferno, “the right tool for the job;” Moxie LaBouche, “one *hot* mess;” and the hostess with the mostest, Dev L. Ish. In addition, Animal Kingdom will feature guest appearances from traveling performers Cherie Sweetbottom (DC) and Lily Liqueur (Norfolk), as well as local burlesque queens Scarlet Starlet and Vixen Vigor. It’s all happening on Sunday January 19, and you should be there!
