Based out of Washington DC, started his DJ career mixing electronic beats in 2005. Heavily influenced by trance, djNügen started mixing after purchasing his first vinyl – Paul van Dyk’s Crush. Playing on Technic turntables, he taught himself mixing skills on his uncle’s old Pioneer DJM-600, playing for friends while they battled it out for hours on Halo. Before he knew it he had already booked his first private party gig, and had honed the techniques necessary to take the world of EDM by storm. Encompassing the styles of electro, progressive and tech house, djNügen never fails to keep the floors shaking and the crowd’s fists pumping.

“Music is my heartbeat,” says djNügen. “It’s not just a love for music, it’s a passion to create good music so that I can share that love with others. When they listen to my music, they become a part of my world.”

His dedication and passion for music has landed him gigs at some of the hottest nightclubs in Washington DC, including Josephine, Current, and District. It has even earned him residency at Sweet Spot, a DC nightclub featuring one of the sickest, top-of-the-line sound systems in the area. djNügen’s high-energy melodic beats, soaring vocals, and liberal use of drops channel a multitude of influences from artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Avicii, Deadmau5, and Wolfgang Gartner. Between his affable chrisma and exceptional sexed-up dance vibe, djNügen is an unstoppable audio tour de force.

In 2005, I created RVA Magazine, and I'm still at the helm as its publisher. From day one, it’s been about pushing the “RVA” identity, celebrating the raw creativity and grit of this city. Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is.
