Crime Pays: Weekend Playlist by The Flavor Project

by | Dec 13, 2019 | MUSIC

Every Friday night, RVA Mag brings you an essential playlist curated by Virginia’s most influential artists, musicians, and institutions.

This time around, we’ve got some tunes selected for your enjoyment by The Flavor Project, a wide-ranging ensemble featuring some of the most talented musicians Richmond has produced in recent years. It’s led by bassist and ringleader Gabe Santamaria, and mixes hip hop, funk, soul, and Latin American flavors together into a tasty melange of delicious groove.

The Flavor Project stays busy, and their next live performance will happen only one week from tonight, when they will join The Shangri-Lords for a Christmas-themed musical spectacular at Fuzzy Cactus on Friday, December 20. Mark your calendars now, and fill the time until then jamming on this playlist filled with a ton of talented musicians, including quite a few local ones, delivering the sort of hip hop, soul, jazz, funk, and Latin sounds that keep the Flavor Project so sweet.

Go back for seconds, Virginia.
