Best of RVA Missed Connections 1/24/18 – 1/30/18

by | Jan 30, 2018 | RICHMOND NEWS, WTF?!

RVA Missed Connections is all over the place this week. In this batch, we have more Uber driver confessions, sparks fly over camo and flip-flops at Poe’s Pub, and a man warns of a Petersburg thief posing as a nympho. All that and more below.

Our never ending story

If you were a book

I’d lick my fingers

and flip to your pages

until your spine creased

and you lay spent,

with nothing else to offer.

Then, I’d cup you in my palms

and read you again.

I’m A, you’re C, I think I love you

My name starts with A, yours C. We live about 1/2 mile away from one another in the country. Our families have known each other since we were kids. The other night we talked about what we have done since our childhood. We talked for hours about any and everything. I enjoyed that very much and I had a great time. Oh and if you didn’t catch the title of this post, I feel I’ve just talked head over heels for you, crazy huh

Secretly y’all – w4m (Hofheimer building)

1/23 You kept turning your head away from the speakers at the front of the room, looking in my direction. I locked eyes with you a few times. I thought maybe you’d come talk to me at intermission but we didn’t speak. If you were looking at me, tell me what you look like and what you were wearing, so that we can speak 🙂

Re: Nympho seeking a friend – w4m (Petersburg)

Theres a reason shes posting in missed connections. Its because everyone in casual encounters knows not to mess with her. She will rob you. Ive heard of people getting robbed at knifepoint by her bf. If not that she will try to trick you into giving her your money…stay away, youve been warned

What Happened Before the Video?

There are two sides to every story, but a lot of the time, the first narrative is the one that sticks. Case in point: last week, an altercation broke out during one of the weekly neighborhood rides organized by the Broad Street Bullies. The ride has happened every...

What the Hell is VITCO? We Went to Find Out.

Editor’s Note: This story was produced in partnership with Virginia Transit Company (VITCO). There are few large-ish pieces of real estate in the city proper that have been more screaming for development than the fallow field bordered by Clay Street and Hermitage...

Can Ellwood Thompson’s Survive Its Owners?

What is Ellwood Thompson’s now? That feels like a fair question most people should be asking right now after this week’s news that the company that owns one of Richmond’s most recognizable stores is being taken over by another company whose primary business is data...

I Went to the Data Center Town Hall at Studio Two Three

Be Kind, Rewind! Welcome to Monster Video

On a hot day in June, while visiting The Veiled Mirror and talking with them about collecting old books and DVDs, I was told that next door would be opening as a VHS video store soon. All throughout July, several of my friends who knew of my movie library habit...
