Best of RVA Missed Connections 3/13/18-3/20/18

by | Mar 20, 2018 | RICHMOND NEWS, WTF?!

It’s a dreary day out there, which may have you down in the dumps, but the folks over at Missed Connections are always the perfect pick-me-up. This week, we’ve got a stressed out doughnut girl, sparks fly over a guy in a turtleneck at The Circuit, a man is searching for his “Daddy Bear” from the Bianco Del Rio show, and a woman dressed as Harley Quinn at Comic-Con gets a secret admirer. All that and more below.

Stressed over those damn doughnuts – w4m

I’m a red haired, 5″1′ female who worked at a popular doughnut chain west of Richmond. You came in last week while we were extremely busy, I was in the midst of a panic attack and putting myself down, saying I couldn’t do anything right and that everything is my fault; I remember you mentioning that you’d hire me in a heartbeat. Well, I quit that day and I’d seriously like to take you up on your offer.  Reply with which company you work for and how many orders you placed that day

White turtleneck at The Circuit – w4m (The Circuit)

To the turtleneck douchebag at The Circuit this week…you were dressed way too nice for that place and you stuck out like a sore thumb. But weirdly enough it really turned me on. Let’s get it.

Redheaded 8th grade teacher beacon Elvis – m4w (Hopewell)

Had a very small conversation, you were saying that you taught 8th grade among some other things. I know you saw me checking you out on the stairs. If you are interested then maybe we can have a little secret???

Shamrock the Block – m4w (Henrico)

You were in line for the port-a-potty’s (I think). I was just trying to get past to the other side. Someone hit me on the back, I couldn’t see who. A woman said “you need a beer, buddy.” I don’t know why. I came to the party because I don’t have friends and wanted to make some, but that didn’t happen. I don’t even like beer. Do you want to talk? If so, email me.

Burger Night – m4m (Cap Ale Downtown)

You were my server on Monday (March 12th). Name tag said Martin. I would’ve invited you to join me for a drink, but you were pretty busy. Maybe we could do that the next time you’re off..?

Bianca Del Rio – Guy standing in back – m4m (The National)

Daddy bear type. Had a red shirt on. Thought you were very cute :). You were standing in the back for at least a portion of the show.

Beautiful Brunette in the Bottom 🙂 – m4w (Shockoe Bottom)

I see you at least once a week while I’m on my lunch break. You’ve only been working the lunch shift for a few weeks. I know you’ve caught me staring at you in the mirror multiple times when you’ve had your back to me. I’m sorry, but I just can’t help it. It’s something about your eyes. You are drop dead gorgeous and quite honestly, I’m a little bit intimidated by it, which is unusual for me. We’ve made small talk many times while I’m there… enough to know you live in the West End, have a son and would rather be barefoot in NC.

I don’t know if you’re single, but if you are, your ex is an idiot for letting the two of you go. It’s obvious that you’re a hard working mom, which makes you that much more attractive. Throw in the great personality and friendly demeanor and you end up with shy guys like me posting a message to you on CL that you’ll probably never see. If you think about it, I know you can easily figure out who I am. I’d really like the chance to get to know you a little better and see if there is any mutual interest. If you happen to see this and you’re interested, just let me know…

Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing – m4w (Magellan Parkway)

You are one of the most beautiful women I have seen in my life and make me question everything. You are always parked near my office on Monday and Tuesday and I swear you know I am trying to see you every chance I get, but it might be a coincidence. If it isn’t let me know what car you drive and what my hair color is I will introduce myself and we can finally talk.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts – m4w (Richmond Va)

You were the most beautiful, stunning, sensuous, woman I’ve ever seen in my life. You wore a tan raincoat with either a navy or black dress under it, open toed heals with a perfect pedi. As you walked up the steps you opened your coat exposing the most beautiful cleavage I’ve seen in person. You were perfect! I’m sure you noticed me looking at you. I wore a grey hat, black jacket and jeans. We walked passed each other in the art gallery and you stood by me as you looked into the gift shop near the entrance. I couldn’t talk to you for an obvious reason, but I feel there was a connection and I can’t get you out of my mind.

The Light That Never Went Out

There is a spotlight still mounted in the rafters of 528 N. 2nd Street. It has been there since 1914. It has outlasted segregation, fire, the highway that cut Jackson Ward in two, and decades of silence. On the nights when the Hippodrome Theater fills up, that light...
