Best of RVA Missed Connections 3/20/18-3/29/18

by | Mar 29, 2018 | RICHMOND NEWS, WTF?!

Following a new sex-trafficking bill that was just passed, Craigslist took down all of their personal ads, which seeks to “subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully” according to a statement the site recently released.  While it’s wonderful that Congress is taking action for victims of sex-trafficking and hopefully makes sites like this more accountable for content users post, we wondered what would become of the romantics of Missed Connections that rely on this section. It has served as a weekly column on our website for quite some time and we like to think it has brought people together who were looking for their long lost flame or recent encounter.

But to our surprise, and after some digging, we found Missed Connections in the Community section of Craigslist so for now at least, don’t fret, because the folks still have a place to post whenever sparks fly. In this batch, we have a couple who hit it off at Sticky Rice on St. Paddy’s Day, things heat up with a trainer at Gold’s Gym, and a man is infatuated with “Natalie” from the airport.

Sticky Rice on St. Paddy’s Day

This is definitely for sure stupid but… your friends were drunk and buying us drinks at Sticky after Shamrock the Block. I wanted to get your number before we left, but my friends rushed me out. I told you I liked your sweater… I seriously doubt you’ll see this but if you do, message me with your name.

Wal-Mart cutie – w4w (Powhatan)

I am the most outgoing person….but everytime I see you I am suddenly struck with shyness. You are absolutely breathtaking.
You are the store manager and if this message finds it’s way to you….and you’re single…I’m just a message away and would love to chat!

Long lost – m4w (Short pump)

Haven’t seen you in forever and believe me I’ve been worse off than ever before. Was a random crazy run in to you . Was an angel sent from God to me. I see your married now and doing well as my marriage is drastically failing but the few minutes you took to say high probably saved my life. I hope you never see this because I think you miss me just as much but I know I was always just that walk on in te wild side to you. Thanks again

I can’t believe you found this! I saw you at that place! – m4w (Chester)

I can’t believe you actually found this! You were at that place….we passed each other and we made eye contact. You quickly and nervously broke eye contact and looked at the ground and kept walking. I wanted so much to turn around and start a conversation, but my bullshit conversational icebreaker subjects all escaped me at that moment. You looked just like you looked there. I know you were somewhere between 21-40 and I’m hoping you’ll say hi!

Natalie (Airport)

We talked at your work while I waited for my flight. I wanted to tell you that you are an amazingly attractive woman with a wonderful outlook on life. Your ex doesn’t know what he lost.  I hope to pass through again one day and talk with you some more.  Thanks for the wonderful conversation and making my delay well worth the time.

eveRy day i’m thiNkinG of you – m4w (rva)

I’ve been dreaming about you again. Your name is always one the tip of my tongue and I’ve resorted to looking/posting here for you as well. I want to talk to/hug/see you so badly that it compounds my feelings of loneliness into an extreme fervor that I know I don’t have the self control to hold indefinitely. Give me some sign, call me, text me, use your telepathic hold on me, whatever – just tell me that you want me in some way! I miss you but am trying to behave. Do you miss me at all or am I just a nuisance whose silence you prefer? Do you know how happy it would make me just to have a simple phone call catching up with you?

Trainer at Golds – m4m

you both kept looking but would look away when I looked your way. You said something when I was pulling off I swerved trying to pay attention but I missed that. Would love to connect you were absolutely beautiful. We should connect if you see this you won’t regret it. Tell me something obvious about our to brief encounter.
