Best of RVA Missed Connections 4/3/18-4/10/18

by | Apr 10, 2018 | RICHMOND NEWS, WTF?!

It seems it’s going to take a bit before Missed Connections is brimming over with a ton of juicy, weird, and random encounters now that it’s in a new section on Craigslist, but it is still alive and well, with sparks flying at The Franklin Inn, karaoke singers share a sweet dance at Sticky Rice, and two gamers connect over The Gauntlet game at The Circuit Arcade Bar. All that and more below.

Cook at the Franklin Inn (Franklin Inn)

It was several Saturdays ago. I was standing outside with friends around noonish waiting for our other friends to arrive. You walked by and we locked eyes. We finally sat down and ordered. I turned around and saw you peeking at me from the kitchen. I found you very sexy. It’s a long shot but if you remember me and want to chat, reach out. Be prepared to at least describe what you remember about me so I know you are legit.

The long-haired woman you shared a dance with (Richmond)

We shared one dance at sticky rice during a karaoke night. I want to meet and continue that dance. I live nearby that area and willing to meet you again there or just have you over for some drinks…

Darkthrone and jet lag a brutal beast

I wish I had better folded the blanket on the couch, and made sure the door locked behind me. Maybe I should have left a note. I blame Paul Ryan and my mind still 12 hrs. in the future. Still, no excuse. You were hilarious and bright. Thanks for that, and teaching me money from anywhere smells the same.

Walmart Lady (Midlothian)

You worked at Walmart and were a little older than me but we texted for a while and went from there. Wondering if still out there. Open to new people too sense personals is done.

Bartender at Your Place (North Chesterfield)

I came in a couple of times after Easter to have drinks, you were the same bartender each day that I went. I really thought you were very nice and you are of course very gorgeous. I’m in my Early 30’s and the last time I was there I paid with my card and was trying to write my number on the receipt for you, but I wanted to do it discretely and you were hanging around close to me before I did it so I chickened out, I wish I would have still done it. If you see this let me know if you may be interested.

There’s a Murder Coming to Richmond, and You’re Stuck on the Train

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

Before the beer taps and condos, before the buzzwords about ‘revitalization,’ Scott’s Addition’s future passed through the hands of a single man: Justin Glynn French. A convicted felon whose empire collapsed in scandal, he set the stage, even if unintentionally, for...

It’s Still Our City | Ep. 13 Stooping RVA

"The joy of finding a perfectly reusable gem on a sidewalk, in an alley, or on a porch stoop is one of the perks of living in such close proximity in the city of Richmond. The FOMO of not making it on your bike in time for a taxidermy dolphin or a surprisingly decent...
