Best of RVA Missed Connections: July 24 – July 31

by | Jul 31, 2018 | RICHMOND NEWS, WTF?!

Grab your popcorn Richmond, because this batch of RVA Missed Connections is sure to provide your dose of entertainment this week. Sparks fly over drinks at 23rd & Main, a New Orleans native catches the eye of a man at the Christopher Titus show at Richmond FunnyBone, a sad soul searches for his long-lost “turtle fan”, and things get steamy at Patrick Henry Pub. All that and more below.

Black Girls Rock (Richmond)

Lost your number and wanted to reconnect. You were wearing a Black Girls Rock shirt when we met for the 1st time. Tell me where we met if you wanna start it back up. Miss the contrast.

We chatted at the bar. You had fries and a salad. Interesting combination… I was last in line.

Patrick Henry Pub 7/26 (Churchhill)

You were on the patio with your younger sister or daughter at 12:30. You told me you didn’t bite. Wish you had told me that you DO bite. What color shirt was I wearing and anything else you might remember if you would like to meet again without the youngsters around.

Woman “from” New Orleans at the Christopher Titus show (Funny Bone)

I was intrigued by you the moment we locked eyes, and more so when we so fleetingly spoke. I couldn’t leave without taking a chance for a better hello. I was nervous and rushed our conversation; I wish I would have introduced myself less awkwardly. You were cute, and polite, and took my number that I offered you. I hope you text. It would be nice to have a chance to get to know you.

Missing Bon Air Turtles (RVA Bon Air)

What I would give to rewind five or six years and have just one more chance. Lost the best thing I ever had. Didn’t move fast enough, but was on track. Wish you could see where I landed my turtle fan. So many things on the list that we didn’t get to do. Blessed for our time, but wanted so much more. Loved talking story, dreaming and sharing with you. If I could turn back time. Can we talk? Praying for a yes from GG.

There’s a Murder Coming to Richmond, and You’re Stuck on the Train

Virginia Repertory Theatre is kicking off its new season the way any sensible theatre should: with a train, a murder, and a detective who’s just trying to make sense of it all. Murder on the Orient Express is Agatha Christie’s great reminder that people are both awful...

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

Before the beer taps and condos, before the buzzwords about ‘revitalization,’ Scott’s Addition’s future passed through the hands of a single man: Justin Glynn French. A convicted felon whose empire collapsed in scandal, he set the stage, even if unintentionally, for...

It’s Still Our City | Ep. 13 Stooping RVA

"The joy of finding a perfectly reusable gem on a sidewalk, in an alley, or on a porch stoop is one of the perks of living in such close proximity in the city of Richmond. The FOMO of not making it on your bike in time for a taxidermy dolphin or a surprisingly decent...
