Best of RVA Missed Connections July 31-August 7

by | Aug 7, 2018 | RICHMOND NEWS, WTF?!

Get your fans ready Richmond, because this week’s batch of Missed Connections is hot and heavy. Inside, a man has a sweet encounter with a girl at Bevs Homemade Ice Cream, a fit mom catches the eye of a guy at Glow Golf, sparks fly at The Daily, and a woman can’t stop lusting after the man with the anchor tattoo and septum piercing she saw cruising down 95. All that and more below.

Turkish baker (West end)

You’re a beautiful Turkish woman working at a bakery. We only met twice but they were unforgettable moments. Since then our connection was lost. Here’s to hoping you see this.

Older woman with pink hair (The dailys)

We met at a bar and you had just had a couple of drinks. We were two younger men and one of us can’t stop thinking about you. I know this is a long shot but let me know what color shirt you were wearing just in case so I know it’s real!

Lost paper name and number you gave me as you left

End of June/First of July. Heard you mention craigslist (group) so I joined. Hope you see this Brian. I don’t want you to think I just didn’t call. If I had the number, I would’ve called you by now.

Beautiful gal behind the counter at Bev’s (Carytown)

I made you laugh a couple times while you were scooping my order. Either it was for a tip, or you’re just sweet. 🙂 Anyway, I’m just visiting Richmond for a few days. So if I never see you again, do me a favor and never suffer someone who isn’t worth it for a second. That smile…

West Broad Village, Fit Mom, early evening in front of Glow Golf

I am the eternal optimist, but I fear I will never see you again. You were beautiful, well spoken, and maybe the most fit/ athletic woman I have seen in Richmond. We walked from Ray’s to Mona Lounge. Why in the hell did I not ask to see you again. Incredibly muscular and competition fit, but not at all in a manly way, definitely could hold any fitness title. Blonde, short haircut, maybe a hint of some type of accent, I commented on your legs and that I thought I was fit until I saw you, you returned the compliment, and told me where Glow Golf was. You told me you didn’t want to be like the other Moms, and wow you are so not! You also mentioned your daughter was fit too. I really think I missed an opportunity, and I would love to meet you.

Blonde in Salmon Color Dress near VCU / Which Which (Richmond, VA)

Couldn’t ignore your breath-taking beauty in your salmon colored dress around VCU campus near Which Which. I seriously doubt this will actually be effective, but just in case, it felt like maybe more conversation was desired?

Planet fitness (Colonial Heights)

You were in the gym today wearing an obx shirt. We caught eyes a few times and I found you to be stunning. I definitely hope to hear from you or see you in there again.

There’s a Murder Coming to Richmond, and You’re Stuck on the Train

Virginia Repertory Theatre is kicking off its new season the way any sensible theatre should: with a train, a murder, and a detective who’s just trying to make sense of it all. Murder on the Orient Express is Agatha Christie’s great reminder that people are both awful...

Confederate Nostalgia, Black Voices: The Paradox of Polk Miller

Over a century ago, engineers from the Edison Company hauled their bulky recording equipment from New Jersey to Richmond, Virginia. In 1909, they captured one of the first interracial recording sessions in American history: Polk Miller, a white Confederate veteran...

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

Before the beer taps and condos, before the buzzwords about ‘revitalization,’ Scott’s Addition’s future passed through the hands of a single man: Justin Glynn French. A convicted felon whose empire collapsed in scandal, he set the stage, even if unintentionally, for...

It’s Still Our City | Ep. 13 Stooping RVA

"The joy of finding a perfectly reusable gem on a sidewalk, in an alley, or on a porch stoop is one of the perks of living in such close proximity in the city of Richmond. The FOMO of not making it on your bike in time for a taxidermy dolphin or a surprisingly decent...
